Clinical Stusy of Mycoplasma Pneumonia in Childrean


Abstract
Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is one of the frequent respiratory infection in school aged children and adolescent.
Its diagnosis is based on cold agglutinin titer, specific mycoplasmal antibody, clinical symptoms and culture.
Author reviewed clinical observation to find out the recent trends of mycoplasma pneumonia who admitted to St. Paul¢¥s hospital during November 1990 to October 1994.
The results were as follows
1. The number of patients who have the mycoplasma antibody titer over 80 was 82(49 males and 33 females).
2. The age incidence was highest between 4 to 6 years of age.
3. The seasonal incidence was highest between August to December.
4. The frequent chief complaints were coughing, fever in frequency.
5. The duration of coughing and fever was 7 days.
6. The WBC count of 5, 000 - 10, 000 and 51-70% of neutrophile was most frequent in CBC count.
7. The distribution of chest lesion was most frequent in right and left lower field of lung in chest x-ray film.
